WG Construction was founded by Scott Essary and Dave Anderson in 1994 with a vision to do things differently. They believed that their true purpose in this industry was to build responsibly, reliably and of the highest quality with the focus being on the customer experience. The two realized early on that building was the easy part. Managing personalities, budgets, expectations, and nerves through this process was where they really wanted WG to be different.
Driven by this purpose, WG Construction has grown its team to over 30 multidisciplinary full-time employees, and a network of the best subcontractors in the entire Bay Area.

Family Values + Customer Relationships
Founders, Dave and Scott, began their careers working alongside each other at a large San Jose general construction company. Their time spent there was invaluable in the importance it played in helping shape their perspective and their experience in the industry. In 1994, the two decided to start their own venture. They incorporated in the Willow Glen area of San Jose, and paid homage by naming the company after the town.
Scott Essary, Co-Founder of WG, grew up in a family rooted in Construction and Real-estate. He began his career as a carpenter for his family’s construction company. From there, his passion for the industry blossomed. Discovering his purpose, he co-founded WG Construction to provide excellent service and a strong partnership to his valued network. Scott’s own family is following in similar footsteps with several of his son’s being involved now at WG. Scott is an avid Automotive/Muscle car enthusiast who enjoys outdoor life when he can.
Dave Anderson, Co-Founder of WG has a passion for design and building. His career began as a carpenter and has grown to overseeing all aspects of building and design at WG. Dave is driven by strategy and optimizing efficiency in everything he works on. “You only get one ride, you might as well go fast and have fun.” Dave has been a competitive swimmer for over 30 years and still enjoys a strong sense of competition.
